说到金字塔呢，都会联想到埃及金字塔，其实在我们亚洲也存在着金字塔的迹象，柬埔寨的金字塔（Koh-Ker），在柬埔寨也有它独有的中文名字“贡开”
Prasat Thom Temple, Koh Ker is a 10th-century temple complex in the north Cambodian jungle. A former capital of the Khmer Empire, the site is now remote and heavily forested. The main structure, Koh Ker Temple, is a stepped 7-tiered pyramid.
建于公元928年，揭开它的面纱，我们会认识到这是一座有七层楼高的金字塔，外表看似金字塔其实主要是座祭祀塔，也是祭祀 Jayavarman IV的主要神庙。贡开金字塔可以说是相当特别，反而比较像马雅遗迹。
When I visit Prasat Thom Temple, the pyramid itself is well-preserved. In side the pyramid is constructed with processed volcanic rock and sandstone blocks on the exterior. Most of the big rocks are with uneven dimensions resulted in the structural stability of the object, which is preserved until today.
整座庙宇由巨石堆砌而成，登上塔顶需要攀登数百级阶梯，在贡开金字塔的正面我们可以很直观的看到有一条可以直通最上面一层的倾斜楼梯，由于年代已久，无人打理，已经变的破烂不堪，长满了杂草，如果想爬上塔顶，只能从后面的人造楼梯登顶，随着简陋的扶梯可以登上这座金字塔的塔顶，你会发现站在塔顶极目远眺，整个平原都在你的脚下，
贡开金字塔共有180多处遗址，保存基本机构的就有30多处，供游人参观的就有10多处
在历史资料中发现，这座金字塔的实际用途因为缺少文献的记载，所以目前仍然是个谜，也为我们留下了一些神秘的猜测，其中有人说是用来活人献祭所用，因为在金字塔顶端有一条直通地面的深洞。
